2021 annual sales to France via eBay report
Since 1 January 2020, online marketplaces operating in France, such as eBay, are required by Article 242 bis of the French General Tax Code to send an annual sales report to all sellers and the French tax authorities.
You received a report for 2021 because you may be liable to VAT in France due to your sales activity to France via eBay in 2021. For further information on VAT criteria, please go to the dedicated information page in the eBay Seller Center.
You’ll find a summary of your eBay transactions below, which we have identified as possibly being liable for VAT in France:
Total gross amount of transactions: € XXX.XXX (überschlagsmäßig unser KOMPLETTER Ebay-Weltumsatz)
Number of transactions: 200 (überschlagsmäßig die korrekte Bestellanzahl aus Frankreich)
Total amount of postage costs: paid to you: € XX.XXX (Die vereinnahmten Versandkosten in alle Länder?)
Total amount of Final value fees charged to you: € XX.XXX (die kompletten Ebay-Gebühren die wir bezahlt haben?)
The tax and social obligations for which you may be liable are described on the French tax authorities website.
In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 3 of Article 242 bis of the French General Tax Code, this information will be transmitted to the French Tax Administration (DGFIP) who will forward it to the French Social Administration (URSSAF) pursuant to Article L114-19-1 of the French Social Security Code. So please ensure you comply with French VAT regulations and provide a VAT number if applicable.
